A 22-year-old woman was charged with attempted murder Wednesday after allegedly breaking into her ex-boyfriend’s home and shooting him in the face, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced Thursday.
Jerica Mae Caballes was also charged with first-degree burglary in connection with the March 26 attack.
Caballes allegedly broke into her ex-boyfriend’s Pomona apartment and shot him in the face, the release stated.
The La Mirada woman was being held on $2 million bail and was due to be arraigned April 21.
If convicted as charged, Caballes faced a maximum sentence of 50 years to life in state prison, according to the DA’s Office.
