One man died early Sunday morning after an SUV slammed into a tree in Boyle Heights, authorities said.
The crash occurred about 3:17 a.m. near the intersection of North Concord Street and East Cesar E. Chavez Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The cause of the collision was under investigation. Witnesses told police that the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed before it struck the tree.
