Maryland reaches NCAA tournament’s second round by surviving Valparaiso

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Maryland men’s basketball team’s first appearance in the NCAA tournament in five years game came down to the final 13 seconds on Friday night. The Terrapins were clinging to a three-point lead against Valparaiso, which had made 12 three-pointers and would have the ball coming out of a final timeout.
