Andy Samberg will host the Emmy Awards this year

Andy Samberg is getting a shot at the big leagues: The former “Saturday Night Live” performer and star of comedy “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” will host the 2015 Emmy Awards, which will air on Fox this year.The choice makes sense for Fox, at a natural host disadvantage when it carries the Emmy Awards because it doesn’t have a late-night show; Seth Meyers, Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel have all taken turns on their respective networks.
